plays the trombones of the “Bart van Lier”-edition developed in close cooperation with him.
Bart van Lier from the Netherlands is world-famous as jazz trombone player. One reason of his publicity are the jazz-departments of the Conservatories Den Haag and Hilversum, which he co-founded and taught afterwards. Other reasons are the countless radio and tv gigs he has created since the sixties, many recordings and the great orchestras and artists he worked together with:
He is a soloist in the Dutch “Metropole Orchestra” and counted, next to Jiggs Whigham and together with his brother Erik van Lier, over 30 years to the main cast of Peter Herbolzheimer’s “Rhythm & Brass combination”. The list of musicians with whom he has played ranges from Al Jarreau on Toots Thielemans to Kurt Elling and Diane Reeves and could also still continue forever. Tours, workshops and master classes took him around the world. He recently received the ITA AWARD 2015 for its exceptional “performance” in trombone performance at the International Trombone Festival in Valencia. Bart van Lier also developed his own training method which he has also published in a book in different countries.
